Emergency vehicles rush to scene of explosion at house in Alloa

AN explosion has been reported at a house in Alloa.

Emergency services attended the blast and subsequent fire at the property on Kellie Place at around 6pm on Sunday evening.

Police received reports of an explosion and fire at the house and have now closed off several roads around the property.

The A907, B9096, Kellie Place and Tullibody Road are all closed, with police urging people to avoid the area.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that they have several appliances in attendance after receiving a call at 6pm.

A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.00pm on Sunday, 6 October, to multiple reports of an explosion and a fire within a house in Kellie Place, Alloa.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised a number of resources to the scene including specialist Urban Search and Rescue units and a heavy rescue unit.

“Crews are working with emergency service partners to make the area safe.”
