Emergency services scrambled with air ambulance spotted after child hit by car

Emergency services rushed to a residential estate in Stockport this evening (Friday) after a child was struck by a car. The collision happened on Walnut Tree Road in Cheadle Heath at around 4pm.

Locals reported seeing a number of police and paramedic vehicles on the street, off Swythamley Road just behind a nearby Aldi store. The air ambulance was also spotted landing in the area.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) told the Manchester Evening News that, thankfully, the child's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Enquiries are said to be ongoing.

The child's age and gender are not yet known and no further details about the incident have been released.
