Fire crews and police were called to Stockport after a bin truck caught fire. Emergency services received calls from around midday alerting them to the blaze on Dialstone Lane, Offerton.
Fire crews from Offerton and Marple assisted with the fire, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and other specialist equipment to tackle the blaze.
Fortunately, nobody was injured and the truck has since been removed.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At approximately 12.05pm on Monday, 8th August, two fire engines from Offerton and Marple stations were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Dialstone Lane, in Stockport.
“The incident involved a lorry. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and other specialist equipment to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were in attendance for around 90 minutes.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We received a call at around 12pm today (8 August 2022) of a bin truck on fire. Fire attended the scene and put the fire out.
“No injuries were reported and the truck has since been removed.”
