Emergency services rush to two-car smash near Etihad Stadium causing traffic chaos

Emergency services were rushed to the scene of a crash near the Etihad football stadium today (January 21).

Two cars were involved in a collision of Alan Turing Way and Ashton New Road around 3.45 this afternoon.

A number of police cars and ambulances were called to the scene with both cars showing extensive damage.

Roads around the crash were closed which caused traffic to build significantly on these major routes.

A police spokesman confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that there were no serious injuries resulting from the crash.

The roads were reopened around 4.30pm with traffic slowly easing.
