Emergency services raced to the scene as a car burst into flames on a busy Scots road.
The vehicle had been travelling northbound on the A9 close to Longman Roundabout, just before Kessock Bridge in Inverness.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched two appliances to the location, shortly before 12pm on Friday, May 13.
Images shared on social media show the indistinguishable car erupt into a ball of smoke with police officers also seen there.
It's understood that the road was closed from the slip road at the flyover with traffic backed up to a treatment plant outside Inverness.
There were no casualties reported and firefighters left the scene after extinguishing the fire and and ensuring the area was made safe.
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.53am on Friday, May 13 to reports of a car on fire near to the Longman Roundabout at Kessock Bridge, Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
