The crew, deployed from North Strand Fire Station, responded to an EMS call that came on board a ship docked at Dublin Port.

“North Strand fire station responded to an EMS call onboard a vessel today," it said.

Two photos accompanied the statement, which showed a fire engine parked beside the huge ship.

Dublin Port Company confirmed to the Irish Mirror that the incident was "a medical emergency involving a passenger on board a vessel".

The Tweet continued: “We also train for shipboard firefighting emergencies in the Irish maritime area.”
