Emergency services race to Scots town after HGV ploughs through brick wall

Emergency services have raced to a West Lothian town after a HGV left the road and collided with a brick wall. Police were called to Mill Road in Armadale at around 6.20pm on Tuesday, 22 November, following reports of a serious incident involving a Co-op lorry.

Fire crews and paramedics are believed to be on the scene. It is currently unknown if there are any injuries.

Images from the scene show multiple fire engines and police vehicles surrounding the smashed vehicle as police have sealed off a section of the road. Edinburgh Live reports the truck has sustained heavy damage after ploughing cabin first through the wall.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a vehicle having struck a wall on Mill Road, Armadale around 6.20pm on Tuesday, 22 November, 2022.

"Emergency services are at the scene."
