Emergency services race to fire in Johnstone High Street

Emergency services are currently tackling a blaze in Johnstone High Street.

Firefighters raced to the building - which is understood to be Sandro's fish and chip shop - shortly after 6.30am this morning following reports of a fire.

Two appliances are currently on the scene attempting to tackle the blaze.

It's extent of the fire is not currently known.

A spokeswoman from Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 6.32am this morning reporting that a building was on fire in High Street, Johnstone.

"Two appliances are currently in attendance dealing with it at the moment."
