Emergency services and rescue teams raced to North Berwick beach after being alerted to a person possibly having difficulty in the water.
Eyewitness report seeing a number of coastguards rush to the harbour in the East Lothian town at around 6pm on Sunday evening, June 18.
HM Coastguard teams from Berwick and Eyemouth, a coastguard helicopter, Berwick RNLI lifeboat, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service and Northumbria Police scrambled to the scene.

Thankfully, HM Coastguard confirmed that the person was found safe well.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "HM Coastguard was alerted to a possible person in difficulty in water at Berwick after concerns were raised by a member of the public, just after 6pm this evening (18 June).
"Coastguard rescue teams from Berwick and Eyemouth, a coastguard helicopter, Berwick RNLI lifeboat, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service and Northumbria Police were all sent.
"The person was found safe and well."
