Emergency services in Nottinghamshire village as 'several sheds' go up in flames

Firefighters have extinguished a blaze involving several sheds in a Nottinghamshire village. A number of crews attended a "building fire" in a village close to Mansfield and used breaking-in gear to help battle the flames.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service says the incident happened in Huthwaite on the afternoon of Friday, July 8. As crews arrived several sheds were on fire.

Pictures from the scene show two crews in a residential street in the village.

Ashfield Fire Station says: "Both appliances have returned back to Ashfield Fire Station after responding to a building fire in Huthwaite earlier this afternoon. On arrival crews were faced with several sheds on fire, this was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using two hose reel jets.

"Breaking-in gear and a thermal imaging camera was also used. All kit has been checked and cleaned and we are now ready to respond to our next incident.

"Thanks to the occupier who supplied both crews with chilled drinks, very much appreciated on a hot day like today. Keeping our communities safe."
