Emergency services close Glasgow roads after pedestrian hit by bus

EMERGENCY services have closed off roads in Glasgow after a person was hit by a bus.

Police were called to the incident involving a First Bus vehicle in the east end of the city at around 6.35am on Monday morning.

The condition of the man involved is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.35am on Monday, 20 January, 2025 we received a report of a crash involving a bus and a male pedestrian in Melbourne Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are in attendance.

"There are road closures in place at Barrack Street and Bellgrove Street at Gallowgate.

"Drivers should use an alternative route."

A First Bus spokesperson said: “We can confirm an incident took place on Gallowgate this morning at around 6:30am involving one of our buses and a pedestrian.

“Emergency services were called to the scene immediately and we are continuing to work closely with them.

“The thoughts of everyone at First Bus are with all those involved in the incident.”
