Emergency services called to two-car crash in Calverton

The emergency services were scrambled to a two-car crash in a Nottinghamshire village. Police, paramedics, and fire crews were called to Oxton Road in Calverton.

Initial social media reports said there were three ambulances and three fire crews at the scene. The incident occurred shortly after 6pm this evening (April 14).

Firefighters say they were initially called to reports two people were trapped in their vehicles. But upon arrival they found two casualties who did not need freeing.

A Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to a two-car collision but no one was trapped. Crews were called at 6.01pm and stayed until the ambulance crews arrived.

"The vehicles were made safe. No one was trapped but there were two casualties, we have no further details of any injuries."
