Emergency services have been called to a dam after reports of concern for the safety of a teenage girl.
Police and fire and rescue services responded to the incident at Carr Mill Dam near Billinge at around 12.30pm on Thursday.
Search and rescue crews are currently working in the water and images from the scene show activity also taking place near to the water's edge, the Liverpool Echo reports.

A cordon has been placed around the area and police are currently restricting access to the dam. Police have confirmed that they are responding to concerns for safety for a teenage girl.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services are responding to a concern for safety in St Helens today, Thursday 1 June.
"At around 12.30pm we received a report of a concern for the safety of a teenage girl at Carr Mill Dam on Garswood Old Road.
"This incident is ongoing, and we ask people to avoid the area while we deal with this incident and thank you for your patience."

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has confirmed to the ECHO paramedics are in attendance assisting emergency service colleagues.
