Emergency services attend as Lanarkshire beauty salon torched

An investigation has been launched after a Hamilton hairdressers was again attacked overnight.

We told you previously how a thug suffered serious burns in a fire attack on Cece Beauty beauty salon.

The Bothwell Road property has been a magnet for trouble in recent times, including that attack in March 2020.

And there was a large police presence and visible fire and smoke damage at the store on Sunday morning.

Lanarkshire Live has contacted Police Scotland for information, but emergency services could be seen outside the damaged property today (February 20).

Alexander Bill previously claimed he was paid “a small sum of money” to torch the business and admitted wilful fireraising when he appeared at court in November.

There is nothing to suggest he was involved in this incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 2.15am on Sunday, 20 February, officers were called to a report of a fire at a shop on Bothwell Road, Hamilton.

"Officers are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact police on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
