A major emergency response was sent to a restaurant fire in Sherwood on Saturday evening, April 1, as one person was treated at the scene. Firefighters were sent to Turquoise, a Turkish restaurant in Hucknall Road, at around 7pm on Saturday, April 1.
Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene, with a large presence seen by passersby. Multiple fire crews attended and the fire was put out at around 9pm.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "Our time of call was 19:12 last night. We were called to a property on Hucknall Road, Sherwood.
"It was a commercial restaurant property, the fire was in the ducting. Firefighters wearing VPA breathing apparatus extinguished the fire."
They continued: "We were there for quite some time, about an hour and a half. Crews from Highfields, Hucknall, Stockhill and Eastwood were in attendance.
"One adult male was treated at the scene by EMAS for inhalation of smoke."
