Emergency services have raced to a car crash on the M8 in Renfrewshire early this evening.
Several vehicles appear to have been involved in a collision on the motorway near the Bishopton slip road.
The westbound carriageway is closed between junctions 29 and 29A.
Several ambulances, fire appliances and police are on the scene.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area with those already on the route expected to wait around of one hour and 10 minutes, according to agency Traffic Scotland.
Friday night rush-hour traffic is now being diverted off the motorway at junction 29A.
