Emergency crews tape off road after building fire in Lenton

Fire crews taped off a Nottingham road after a fire started in a derelict building. Crews were called to Faraday Road in Lenton at 7.45pm on Monday, April 4.

The fire service say the rubbish fire was started on the ground floor of the building and was then extinguished by two crews, one from Highfields and the other from London Road, who arrived on the scene. On eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live they couldn't turn onto Faraday Road from Derby Road as the fire service had taped the road off at approximately 9.30pm.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "We got a call at 7.45pm last night to a small rubbish fire on the ground floor of a derelict building on Faraday Road. We had crews from Highfields and and London Road that attended and they used two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire."

Crews remained at the scene until around 10.20pm, according to the fire service.
