Emergency crews tackle major blaze at Alexandria industrial estate

Emergency services were called to an industrial estate after a fire broke out in a unit on Sunday evening.

The alarm was raised after 8pm at a premises in Strone Road at Lomond Industrial Estate in Alexandria.

Four fire engines rushed to the scene, with crews still in attendance today.

Officers from Police Scotland were also called, with a spokesperson confirming that there were no reported casualties.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 8.08pm on Sunday, September 4 to reports of a fire within a industrial site in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire.

“Operations control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire.

“There are no reported casualties.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a fire on Strone Road, Alexandria around 8.15pm on Sunday, September 4.

“There were no reports of injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
