Big savings could be round the corner if you work in the emergency services, NHS, social care, defence or are a foster carer. Blue Light Card 's annual Big Blue Weekend is taking place from 1-4 July this year, and organisers are promising savings of up to 35% in retail, travel and beauty.

The four-day event will take place in the lead up to the NHS’ birthday on the 5th July, and will include time-limited discounts from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Hotels.com, as well as big prizes to be won including a stay at Warwick Castle and a Butlin’s Family Holiday. To get your hands on the deals, you must be a Blue Light Card holder, which allows members to save money all-year round. Registering for a Blue Light Card is quick and easy and can be done online at www.bluelightcard.co.uk.

A card costs £4.99 and is valid for two years. A wide variety of emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces are eligible to apply, and membership is also open to charities such as Blood Bikes, the Red Cross and the RNLI.
