Embattled Amber Heard has ‘quit Hollywood’ for new start in Madrid

Amber Heard is said to have ditched Hollywood and moved to Madrid.

The actress, who lost a very public court battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp last year, reportedly fled to the Spanish city amid the ongoing drama from the fallout of the trial.

“I can reveal that Heard has quit Hollywood and quietly relocated to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh,” the Daily Mail columnist Alison Boshoff claimed a friend of Heard told her.

“[Heard is] bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.”

“I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project,” the friend added.

Heard (L) has faced the heat since losing defamation case brought by Johnny Depp (R) (getty)

The 37-year-old Aquaman star sold her Yucca Valley, California home in July 2022 and has spent a lot of time in Spain since then.

Last October, she was snapped enjoying a day out on the beaches of Palma de Mallorca and, a few days before, was spotted playing with her daughter, Oonagh, two, at a park during the holiday.

The Standard has reached out to Heard’s team to ask about the relocation.

Heard is expected to be in Tinsel Town, however, for the premiere of the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

It was revealed recently that she is set to reprise her role as Mera.

The actress’s future in the film was believed to be uncertain after she lost the six-week televised legal battle with  Depp, 59, who accused her of defaming him, last year.

Heard, 37, had claimed during the high-profile court case that her role in the upcoming sequel was “reduced”, and that she “fought really hard to stay in the movie”.

Walter Hamada, president of DC Films at Warner Bros, testified that there were talks about recasting her – but it was down to her “lack of chemistry” with Momoa and not the trial.

When a jury sided with Depp and instructed Heard to pay the actor millions in damages, a fan petition calling for her removal from Aquaman gained 4.5 million signatures.
