Some 30 paintings are on display along the outside walls of the Embassy of France as symbols of the long-lasting and friendly relations between France and Thailand.

An initiative by French Ambassador Thierry Mathou, the art project started last September and came to completion two weeks ago. It's a collaboration between teams from Restaurateurs sans Frontieres under the direction of Robert Bougrain and students from the Poh Chang Academy of Arts.

The students created original artwork to display on the embassy's external walls to illustrate the richness of the dialogue between France and Thailand.

Each painting comes with an audio description in Thai and French, recorded by students from the French International School of Bangkok (Lycee Francais International de Bangkok). It can be read by scanning a QR code next to each painting.

Viewers will learn more about France through the artwork, which also shows its association with the Kingdom and some similarities between the two countries.

These are reflected in such pieces as Thai Variations Around The Louvre Pyramids, Franco-Thai Strolls On The Seine Banks, From Wat Arun To The Eiffel Tower and Khon Dancers On The Buren Columns.

The French embassy is located on Charoen Krung 36. Visit facebook.com/lafete.festival.
