Cristiano Ronaldo has been dropped from Manchester United's squad to face Chelsea this weekend, the club has confirmed.
The 37-year-old, who was an unused substitute in Wednesday's night's impressive 2-0 home win against Tottenham Hotspur, stormed down the tunnel before the final whistle and opted not to join his team-mates and the fans in celebrating. According to the Daily Mail, he refused to come on as a late substitute at Old Trafford.
Speaking after the final whistle, Red Devils manager Erik Ten Hag refused to comment, adding that he will 'deal with that tomorrow'. And the Dutchman wasn't lying, with an official club statement revealing Ronaldo will be not be involved in Saturday's trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.

An official United statement read: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea.
"The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture."
Ronaldo was lamented across the board for his actions, with Gary Lineker describing his actions as 'unacceptable' while former Reds midfielder Danny Murphy labelled the striker an 'absolute disgrace'.
And fans of both Liverpool and Manchester United - so often great rivals - were in agreement, too.
