Elton John reschedules Yellow Brick Road UK tour date for Eurovision

Elton John's Yellow Brick Road tour has been moved again, M&S Bank Arena has confirmed.

The upcoming 2023 dates of his UK and European tour will now take place a month earlier. This is the third time the tour has been delayed, with the original tour dates postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

People who bought tickets for the Liverpool dates of the Yellow Brick Road Farewell Tour back when it was announced in 2018, will have waited five years before seeing the star on stage. Elton John announced today he has moved the dates following the announcement Liverpool will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest.

In a statement regarding rescheduled dates, M&S Bank Arena said: "Following the exciting news that Liverpool will host the 2023 Eurovision Song Concert, Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour show, due to take place on Saturday 22 April 2023 & Sunday 23 April 2023, has been rescheduled.

"Working closely with Elton and his team the M&S Bank Arena has been able to reschedule the show to earlier in the year. The new date for the Saturday 22nd April show is now Thursday 23 March 2023, his first European show of 2023.

"The new date for the Sunday 23 April show is now Friday 24 March 2023. Given the electric reception that Elton received when he played to a sold-out Anfield Stadium earlier this year, he couldn't wish for a better place to start the final leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

"Elton, his management team and everyone involved with the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour wishes Liverpool the best of luck in delivering the Eurovision Song Contest and are glad that they were able to assist in their own small way by working with us to move their dates to accommodate the show. We are grateful for their hard work and enthusiasm in working with us to help make this special moment happen for our city."
