Sir Elton John has shared his heartbreak over the death of his beloved aunt yesterday.
The Tiny Dancer hitmaker, 75, paid tribute to her on social media as he hailed her as "kindness personified".
Sharing photos of them both together, Elton wore a fluorescent orange tracksuit as he sat with his Auntie Win, who wore a red cardigan and large earrings as they both smiled for the camera.
In another, a younger Elton wore a red sweatshirt with stripes on the sleeves as he stood next to his aunt while they both grinned.
The last black and white photo showed a young Win cradling toddler Elton in the garden as she posed for a photo.
Elton had captioned the post: "My beautiful Auntie Win passed away this morning at 95 years of age. I loved her so much and will miss her terribly. She was kindness personified. #RIP."
His celebrity friends and fans took to the comments to share their condolences, with Davey Johnstone writing: "Oh Auntie Win, so sad to hear this - what a lovely lady."
While Alan Carr commented with a heart emoji: "Oh no. So sorry."
Susannah Constantine wrote: "Oh darling. Why didn't you say? X."
It comes after Elton confirmed earlier this month that he will be headlining Glastonbury as his last ever UK show on farewell tour.
In a statement the Hold Me Closer hitmaker said he "couldn’t be more excited" to be headlining at Glastonbury 2023.
He said: "As the end of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour comes into view, there is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my British fans. They have been beyond brilliant, and have supported me through all the highs and lows of my career.
"Every week I speak to new artists on my radio show and Glastonbury is often cited as a pivotal moment in launching their careers – the festival’s genuine, enthusiastic support for the best emerging talent is something I’ve long admired.
"I’ve been talking to Emily Eavis about it over the last few weeks and I can’t wait to embrace the spirit of the greatest festival in the world. It’s going to be incredibly emotional."
The performance will mark Sir Elton's final gig in the UK, however, he will continue on his tour with performances scheduled in Australia and New Zealand.
