Sir Elton John has credited working with Brandi Carlisle for bringing out the best in him musically.
The two musicians have teamed up for collaborative album Who Believes In Angels?, which is out April 4.
The album features 10 tracks, including the already released title track, and the whole record was written in just 20 days following John’s final tour in 2023.
Working together has resulted in them forming an “inseperable” bond and they are already eyeing a follow-up record.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Sir Elton explained: “I would love to do another record, but she's got to go off and be Brandi Carlile for a while.”
Equally full of praise for her collaborator, Carlisle said: “He was with me before and he'll always be with me. He's locked into my soul. His songwriting and his spirit is locked into my soul. I'll always have Elton when I write. And as I walk through the world. But I recently did some songwriting without him and I missed him. I called him and I said, ‘Elton, I feel chordially anaemic.’
“It's really hard when you've written with Elton John to go back to writing G-C-D chords over and over again. And all of these inversions and nuances that come out of this man are just...”
Sir Elton interjected, saying: “You do yourself an injustice. I think working with her would be a privilege to do again, but she needs to go off and do what she's learned on this record and put it into her solo stuff. And then, when we do another album or if we do another, it'll be even better. I really mean that, so there you go.”

The Rocketman hit-maker - who has 32 albums on his belts - then paid the ultimate compliment to Carlisle by saying working with her had helped him to elevate his vocal skills.
He said: “Also, I have to say this, but my voice on this record is probably the best it's ever been.”
