Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, launched an invasion of Ukraine in February, 2022. Putin met stiffer resistance than he anticipated and the bloody conflict has drawn on, with Ukraine intent on completing a counter-offensive against the Russians.
Though the country has received aid from the U.S., in addition to other NATO members, ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson thinks the U.S. should be doing more to stop the conflict. And Elon Musk agrees.

"Ukraine is losing the war, obviously. And Ukrainians are dying in huge numbers, and the country is being destroyed," Carlson, who recently transitioned his show to Twitter, told Russell Brand. "The U.S. could force peace like tonight. They could. Uniquely, they have that power. And they won't, and they are continuing to allow Ukrainians to be killed and that country to be devastated. If you criticize that, they are really intent on making you be quiet."
Musk, in a somber response to the clip, highlighted the pointlessness of war.
"The flower of Ukrainian & Russian youth are dying in trenches, with no meaningful change in territory," the billionaire tweeted, just a day after a Russian missile strike killed at least six civilians and injured at least 36 in the Ukrainian city of Lviv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to AP News, promised "a tangible" response to the enemy.
This is not the first time Musk has chimed in on the ongoing war. Musk, in October, outlined a brief peace plan that was highly criticized by Ukrainian authorities and supporters for echoing Russian demands.

"This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end -- just a question of how many die before then," Musk said in an additional tweet. He later defended the controversial plan, saying he is merely seeking to de-escalate the conflict.

"I still very much support Ukraine, but am convinced that massive escalation of the war will cause great harm to Ukraine and possibly the world."
Following the brief revolt by the Wagner Group -- a mercenary company that was working with Putin -- which ended following a deal between the group's head and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Musk was not optimistic that the war is nearing a conclusion.
"I suspect there are a few more episodes to go," the Tesla CEO tweeted.
