The Department of Transportation has issued a directive to all its employees to submit a response to Elon Musk's recent email query by Monday's 11:59 p.m. ET deadline. This information was revealed in an internal memo that was accessed by sources familiar with the matter.
The email, sent out at 9 a.m. ET on Monday, specified that employees should outline approximately five accomplishments in a bulleted list format. Musk has reportedly stated that failure to comply with this request may result in termination.

Among those required to provide a response are the air traffic controllers of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a workforce that has been grappling with chronic understaffing issues. Many controllers are currently working strenuous schedules, including mandatory overtime and six-day workweeks consisting of 10-hour shifts.
Over the weekend, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, the union representing these professionals, criticized Musk's directive as a 'distraction' that could potentially divert attention from critical tasks at a time when the air safety system is deemed 'fragile'.
