Elon Musk's DOGE Eyes Cutting Federal Diversity Programs

Elon Musk

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aiming to propose cuts to federal diversity and inclusion programs, as per a recent report. DOGE's primary objective is to enhance government efficiency by reducing spending and waste, potentially influencing White House budget policies.

A 19-page report from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, a conservative nonprofit, suggests that over $120 billion is spent annually on diversity initiatives deemed unconstitutional, including Agriculture Department grants for minority farmers. While complete elimination of these funds is unlikely, cuts are expected to be made to reallocate spending.

Insiders reveal that DOGE advisors have reviewed the proposal and are considering its implementation swiftly once confirmed. Elon Musk is anticipated to have an office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building adjacent to the West Wing, facilitating his involvement in White House matters post-inauguration.

DOGE, although not a federal entity, is set to recommend executive orders and collaborate with the Office of Management and Budget on cost-cutting initiatives. The committee aims to reduce $2 trillion from the federal budget through program cuts and downsizing the federal workforce, although Musk has hinted that a $1 trillion reduction may be more feasible.

During a tech trade show, Musk expressed optimism about achieving the $2 trillion target but acknowledged the likelihood of settling for $1 trillion. The plan to streamline government spending and operations through DOGE's proposals is expected to unfold rapidly following the new administration's confirmation.
