Elon Musk’s child, 18, seeks to change their gender from male to female and cut ties with dad

Elon Musk’s 18-year-old child is seeking to change their gender from male to female and switch names to sever ties with their billionaire tech entrepreneur father.

Xavier Musk wants to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson and has told a court in Santa Monica, California: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

Tesla and Space X founder Musk, 50, who is the world’s richest man with an estimated $213 billion dollar fortune, has not yet commented on the decision, made in legal papers which were filed in April.

But he has come under fire in recent months for social media comments which have been interpreted as transphobic.

In July 2020, Musk wrote “pronouns suck” on Twitter.

Earlier this month after an article emerged discussing whether the question ‘What is a woman’ was legitimate, Musk commented: “We are simultaneously being told that gender differences do not exist and that genders are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option.

“Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy.” He added: “It is a better world if we are all less judgy.”

Also in 2020, he Tweeted: "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."

Xavier Musk was born as one of twins to Musk and Canadian author Justine Wilson in 2004, followed by triplet boys Damian, Kai, and Saxon two years later.

Musk, who has insisted he is pro-LGBTQ rights, had two more children, known as X and Y, with Canadian singer Grimes in 2018 and 2020. Xavier’s legal petition is due to be heard in court on Friday.
