Elon Musk 'rage quits' livestream after continuously dying in video game tutorial

BILLIONAIRE Elon Musk seemingly “rage quit” a livestream of a popular video game after he kept dying in the tutorial – despite previously claiming he was one of its top players.

Musk live-streamed the game Path of Exile 2 last week as part of an “airborne continuity test” of his satellite internet service Starlink.

However, Musk’s broadcast only lasted around 45 minutes after he was relentlessly trolled by other players in the game, and he couldn’t defeat the tutorial boss.

The tech billionaire and close Donald Trump ally had previously showcased his account and boasted his position as the 15th highest-ranked account on the game’s hardcore mode.

But gamers doubted the legitimacy of Musk’s claims and ownership of the account, with many accusing him of paying someone else to play for him, known as “boosting”.

In an attempt to refute the claims, the Tesla CEO livestreamed himself playing the game, where he sat silently and stared solemnly at the camera while he died repeatedly in the game's tutorial.

During the broadcast, other players were seen using the in-game text chat to troll Musk about his position in the US government and his personal life.

One person in the text chat claimed to be Ashley St Clair, a former partner of Musk’s who is currently locked in a custody battle with him for their five-month-old child

While another wrote: “Elon, deep down you will always be cringe no matter how much money or power you have.”

Others in the game’s chat branded the billionaire as "insecure", and he was also called "pathetic", which ultimately led to Musk ending the stream as he claimed he was having "connection issues".

Some viewers tried to be helpful, suggesting that Musk disable messages in the in-game settings, but he decided not to heed their advice.

Previously, gamers have pointed out Musk’s technical skill and understanding of game mechanics were reminiscent of someone who had put just a few hours into the game, not the hundreds required to reach the level he had previously claimed.

Musk had also previously argued online with those who doubted his claims.
