Elon Musk made a surprise appearance on a phone call between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, it has been reported.
The Tesla-owner’s presence alongside the newly elected US leader and Ukrainian president indicates he might have a significant role to play in the term to come.
All three men were on the call for around 25 minutes, according to Axios, with Mr Trump being congratulated for his victory in last week’s election.
Mr Musk has provided satellite internet connection throughout the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict and reportedly said this will continue.
The billionaire became a major donor to the president-elect’s campaign having spoken glowingly at a rally for Mr Trump, where he was seen jumping for joy.
Mr Musk was later seen to ecstatically celebrate the election result.
His presence on the call between the politicians shows that he might have a further role to play under the next Trump administration.
Mr Trump’s team have already played down talks that he might be seeing a third term in office and are now focusing on the 47th presidency, which is set to begin in January.
According to AP, anti-abortion advocates have said there is still work to be done to further restrict access to abortions when Mr Trump returns to the White House.
They point to the federal guidance that the administration of Democratic president Joe Biden released around emergency abortions, requiring that hospitals provide them for women whose health or life is at risk, and its easing of prescribing restrictions for abortion pills that have allowed women to order the medication online with the click of a button.
Meanwhile, Robert F Kennedy Jr, the former independent presidential candidate, is said to be reviewing candidate resumes for the top jobs at the US government's health agencies in Mr Trump's incoming administration - says Reuters.
