Elon Musk Expressed Interest In Buying Rival Club Of Liverpool

A historic tweet from Elon Musk has gone viral after suggestion that he would ‘love’ to complete a takeover of Liverpool.

Speaking to Kait Borsay on Times Radio, Errol Musk revealed his son – the world’s richest man – has ‘expressed a desire’ in the Premier League leaders.

“I can’t comment on that, they’ll raise the price. I can’t comment on that,” Errol jokingly responded to whether his son would like to buy Liverpool.

She enquired: “Has he expressed a desire to buy Liverpool football club?”

“Oh yes, oh yes – but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it, you know,” Errol said. “He would like to, yes. Obviously. Anyone would want to. So would I.”

Musk previously declared that he would like to buy a Premier League club on Twitter – which he has since bought and renamed as X – back in 2022.

Musk Revealed Manchester United Ambition Despite Liverpool Rumours

Elon Musk back in 2022 revealed that he supported Manchester United and would like to buy the Red Devils – amid recent links with Liverpool.

Writing on Twitter, the world’s most richest man said: “Also I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.”

In response, one person asked Musk whether he was being serious.

Musk wrote back: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.

“Although if it were any team it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.”

United have since seen Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS invest in the Red Devils. Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group are not currently interested in a sale.

Musk’s Worth

Amid reports linking him with wanting to buyout Liverpool, Elon Musk is worth an estimated $418billion.

In recent times he has emerged as Donald Trump‘s right-hand man over the last few months, reportedly donating around $270million to the Republican party.

When asked why Musk is specifically interested in Liverpool, his father revealed that his family have generational ties to the Merseyside city.

“His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we had relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know,” he told Times Radio.
