Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been openly feuding since 2016, when a SpaceX rocket carrying Facebook satellites exploded on the landing pad. That feud has been heating up over the past year as Zuckerberg and Meta raced to develop an alternative to X (formerly Twitter).
But in June, it reached the breaking point when Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a physical cage match, something Zuckerberg -- a passionate student of jiu jitsu -- agreed to.

Zuckerberg said last week: "I’m ready today. I suggested Aug. 26 when [Musk] first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath."
Musk responded on the same day saying that he wasn't sure exactly when the fight would be taking place.
"I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow," he tweeted. "May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week."
And though no date has been shared, the fight seems to be going through. Musk shared new details Aug. 11, saying that the fight will be managed by his and Zuckerberg's foundations, rather than the UFC.
He added that it will be live-streamed on X and Meta's platforms, and that everything in the camera frame will "be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all."

I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.
And this gladiator-styled bout will be taking place in Italy, though Musk didn't say exactly where, saying just that he "spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location."
Some early speculation held that the fight might be taking place in the Colosseum itself.
"Everything done will pay respect to the past and present of Italy," Musk said. "And all proceeds go to veterans."
Even as the fight gets closer to taking place, new data from Cint found that, to 31% of people surveyed, a potential cage match will turn them off to both brands; 16%, however, said that they would favor the brand of the triumphant tech titan.
