Elmo has taken to X again, reminding his followers that he loves them while highlighting the importance of checking in on each other's mental health, especially ahead of the 2024 election.

After receiving an overwhelming amount of outpour from followers in a viral post back in January, Elmo reiterated his support in a recent post, saying, "Hi friend! Elmo loves you. And Elmo will remind you every day if you need him to."

"Elmo needs to tell us this daily," one user commented. "Elmo, we need to get this country back in order!" one user tweeted in light of the upcoming election.

The engagement sparked by Elmo's initial post opened a widespread conversation surrounding mental health, with more "Sesame Street" characters joining in to offer support. The official "Sesame Street" X account posted words of encouragement to remind people that "it's okay to take it one day at a time."

Cookie Monster, Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, Rosita, Grover, Abby Cadabby and Snuffleupagus all continued to offer words of encouragement to fans.

Elmo previously went viral after asking his followers how they were doing in a post in January. The responses revealed widespread feelings of anxiety and distress. Many of the answers pointed to current global turmoil, leading to Elmo directing followers to mental health resources.

"Elmo I'm depressed and broke," one user wrote at the time. Another commented, "Bro... You have NO idea what 33 years of teaching have done to me. It's a WHOLE thing. My hair... gone, my face... old AF, I have PTSD from everything. I just want to sit and feed birds... alone."

"Elmo I'm suffering from existential dread over here," one user tweeted. Another wrote, "Every morning, I cannot wait to go back to sleep. Every Monday, I cannot wait for Friday to come. Every single day and every single week for life."
