Before Ellie Goulding met her new husband Caspar Jopling, she had an on/off relationship with McFly bassist Dougie Poynter. Now, Poynter has revealed that while he was invited to Goulding's wedding last weekend he didn’t think it was “appropriate” to attend.
The couple split up in 2016 but have remained friends and even attended events together in the intervening years.
Poynter told The Sun, “I did [get an invite] but I didn't really think it was appropriate.” He also said, “'we are totally on good terms."
Goulding and Jopling were married at The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York in an extravagant ceremony last weekend which saw Goulding show off four different dresses in a royal wedding-inspired twist (the musician is friends with young members of the Royal family and performed at the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William).
Wedding guests included Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Sarah, Duchess of York, James Blunt and Sienna Miller.
Goulding and Jopling began dating in March 2017 after Princess Eugenie reportedly introduced them.
