Ellie Goulding opened up about being a mother to her one-year-old son during a TV appearance, sharing his hilarious reaction to her music.
Appearing on yesterday’s episode of This Morning, the Love Me Like You Do singer, 36, spoke about becoming a mother for the first time, alongside discussing her latest album and upcoming tour.
Ellie’s latest release, Higher Than Heaven, is her first musical body of work since having her one-year-old son, Arthur, who she shares with husband Caspar Jopling.
Speaking to Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle on the show, Ellie revealed a humorous detail about her son’s reaction to her music.
Upon Josie confirming that Higher Than Heaven was Ellie’s first album since becoming a mother, Ellie replied: “Thank you. He's nearly two. That's the best thing, that this album I get to see his reaction which is the greatest of all.
“Not when he puts his fingers in his ears to some of them.
“But mostly... he loves miracle and he loves how long will I love you for some reason. That one too.”
The pop star has previously spoken out about her mental health, having struggled with anxiety and panic attacks in the past, and has said that snuggles with her little boy helps soothe her when she gets into a frantic state.
While anxiety has “dictated quite a lot” of Ellie’s “life and career”, she confirmed that her anxiety has gotten worse since becoming a mother, alongside “the current climate and what’s going on in the world”.
However, the pop star admitted she was ready and ‘excited’ to start touring again, speaking about her hectic schedule as a UN ambassador.
Josie asked her: “You've got your tour coming up, you're a UN ambassador. How do you do it all?”
Ellie replied: “The juggle is real. I don't get a huge amount of sleep, but I love everything. I love being a UN ambassador.
“I'm a big environmentalist, so I love doing that and then touring is my natural habitat. I didn't get to do it with my last album. So I'm very excited to take this one on tour.”
