An out of control Rottweiler has attacked five people, causing them to be rushed to hospital.
The animal was off the lead at a local park where he attacked those who attempted to bring it under control.
They were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment while the dog was seized.
It is currently in secure kennels as investigations continue, Cheshire Live reported.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At 2.40pm on Tuesday, August 30, police were called to reports of a dangerous dog at Luton Park, Ellesmere Port. Officers attended the scene and found a Rottweiler, which was off the lead and out of control.
"During the incident five people were bitten as they attempted to control the dog.
"They all sustained minor injuries and attended the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment to their injuries.
"The dog was subsequently seized by officers and is currently in a secure kennels."
One person speaking of the incident said: "Probably bit them because they were trying to grab it so would have been frightened.
"Before biting they most likely will have showed signs of fear/aggression. Hope the people are ok and really hope the poor dog isn't put to sleep because of this.
"There's also a possibility the dog could have been aggressive but no one knows right now. I just hope all involved are ok, including the dog."
More also blamed the owners of the dog whilst others called for the animal to be put to sleep.
