Ellen DeGeneres has broken her silence after her ex Anne Heche was involved in a near-fatal car accident over the weekend.
Popular talkshow host Ellen, 64, was spotted out with a friend at True Lune restart in Santa Barbara, California on Monday, where she wished her ex well.
Ellen and actress Anne, 53, dated in the 1990s after coming out. But, Ellen revealed the pair no longer speak as she was asked about Anne's condition.
Anne is in a "critical condition" in hospital following the car accident, which saw her smash into a building.
Following the crash, Ellen was spotted out and about and quizzed about her exe's condition.
In a video shared by the Daily Mail, she was asked if she has spoken to Anne since the accident.
"No," Ellen said as she shook her head. "I have not. We're not in touch with each other so I wouldn't know."
The cameraman is then heard asking: "Do you wanna send her any well wishes?"
"Sure," Ellen said. "I don't want anyone to be hurt."
It comes as a spokesperson for Anne explained on Sunday that the actress has slipped into a coma following the crash.
A spokesperson told PA news agency: "Despite previous reports that Heche was stable, shortly after the accident, [she] became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition."
Anne's representatives added: "At this time Anne is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention."
On Saturday, Anne's publicist said she was "stable" as news broke of the accident.
Anne was seen driving at high speed in a residential area in the Mar Vista neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Friday morning.
It is reported she crashed her car twice – first into an apartment complex and then a second time into another home.
The second crash is reported to have ignited a fire that caused "significant damage" – while footage and photographs from the scene showed Anne being taken away in an ambulance.
At the time, TMZ reported that a witness told them: "she was driving a blue Mini Cooper and crashed into the garage of an apartment complex."
They added: "Residents of the apartment complex tried getting Anne out of the vehicle but she put the car in reverse and then sped off. A short time later, she crashed into a nearby home, igniting a fire. The fire was significant and engulfed the house."
While next-door neighbours told Fox News the car had ploughed through the house.
They said: "The windows were broken, so I opened the back door of the car. She [Heche] answered and said she was not OK, so that was tough. I know they didn’t get her out of the car until the fire was pretty much put out."
The occupant escaped the house without injury but the building has been deemed uninhabitable.
