'My partner in crime' - Elle Edwards sister pays tribute to 'best friend' and 'soul mate'
Elle Edwards' sister has paid tribute to her "best friend" and "soul mate" in an emotional tribute.
Elle, 26, was fatally shot at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village on Christmas Eve. She was not believed to be the intended target of the shooting, in which four other men were also injured.
On Sunday (January 1), Lucy Edwards posted a tribute to her sister on Instagram, featuring photos and videos of the two together. In the caption, Lucy said she will "miss everything about her sister".

She wrote: "I miss you so much sis Elle May…you are and will always be my best friend, side kick, partner in crime, soul mate and big sister. You are beautiful inside and out, you are the kindest person ever and you wanted nothing but the best for me.
"I miss everything about you, especially our daily catch ups, our long drives, we’d blast the music and sing so loud that people in traffic would be laughing at us, but we were always in our own bubble and we didn’t care, and I will miss travelling and seeing new places with you."

Reports of man with gun trigger huge police operation
Dozens of police cars descended on a north Liverpool street this evening (Sunday) after reports of a man with a gun,
Large numbers of Merseyside Police vehicles were seen in Hanson Road near the border of Fazakerley and Aintree tonight. A police aircraft could also be seen and heard in the area.
Most of Hanson Road has been cordoned off by police with searches taking place in the area. The force has confirmed those searches come after reports of a man seen with a handgun.

A Merseyside Police statement said: "We can confirm officers are this evening, Sunday 1st January, at business premises in Liverpool.
We were contacted at 6.25pm following reports a male had been spotted in possession of a handgun at Hanson Road business centre on Hanson Road. There are no suggestions any shots have been fired and there are no reports of anyone being injured or damage caused.
"Enquiries remain ongoing and a search of the premises is being carried out." Read more here.
Major city centre roadworks and when to expect disruption in 2023
Since the completion of the Lime Street redevelopment in late summer 2022, Liverpool’s roads have been free from major roadworks.
In just over 12 months, work on the A565 , including Great Howard Street and Derby Road , was completed which brought to an end significant disruption along one of the main arteries in and out of the city. Other resurfacing projects along Lark Lane and County Road have also been completed after a long periods of disruption.
Aspects of the City Centre Connectivity Scheme - an enormous project which looks to change how cars and pedestrians move through the centre of Liverpool - have also been completed. One key milestone of the project was completing the first phase of The Strand, works that saw the arterial route reduced to four lanes with enhanced cycling and walking infrastructure added.

After the collapse of its original contractor in October 2021, the controversial Lime Street redevelopment was finally completed in August 2022. Aspects of the scheme were changed earlier in the year to allow for public transport access, as well as the removal of features such as ‘reflective pool’.
But the relative harmony on the roads isn’t set to continue with resumption of key works in 2023. The council has previously stated its intention to commence phase two of The Stand redevelopment which will see the scheme continue down towards the Baltic Triangle.
