After Will Young got things off to a fantastic start with a stellar set last weekend, Ella Henderson will headline the second of this year's Sunday concerts for South Tyneside Festival.
The sun shone high above Bents Park in South Shields on Sunday, July 10 as Pop Idol champion Will performed to a large crow d 20 years after his win on the ITV show. The platinum seller delighted with tracks like Changes, Who Am I and Leave Right Now, before finishing with his coronation song from 2022, Evergreen.
Support came from Geordie soul diva Beth Macari and this weekend's line-up is also a great one with The South, made up of members from legendary British group The Beautiful South, also on the bill, as well as local musicians Drum Young.

Since then, she has been the vocalist on a whole host of dance anthems including Jax Jones' This is Real and more recently David Guetta banger Crazy What Love Can Do and Nathan Dawe track 21 Reasons.

- The festival 'strongly suggests' that dogs aren't taken along to concerts due to the noise and crowds. Anyone who does bring a dog should keep it on its lead.
- Food can be taken into the park but BBQs are banned. There are various catering units and bars on site. Alcohol can be taken in but anyone who does is asked to put their empty cans and bottles in the recycling bins in the park.
- Deckchairs are allowed, but are not recommended in the main part of the crowd.
- Small pop-up tents are allowed, as long as they are behind the mixing desk platform and not right in front of the stage area and they may need to be taken down depending on the size of the crowd.
- Bags will be subject to checks on entering the park so there may be delays in the bag search areas.
- Sharp instruments are banned.
Weather
According to the Met Office, it will be cloudy with some sunshine in the later afternoon. Temperatures are set to peak at a not too shabby 21 degrees.
