Growing up in a famous family isn't always straightforward, but Elizabeth Olsen has stepped from the shadow of her famous twin sisters (Mary-Kate and Ashley) to carve out a successful acting career of her own.
After garnering attention for her breakout role in the 2011 thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene, Olsen has taken on Hollywood with a slew of films (Very Good Girls, Ingrid Goes West) and, most notably, joined the ubiquitous Marvel movie universe as the character Scarlet Witch.
She’s also worked some pretty chic red carpet looks along the way. She loves wearing pieces by her sisters' line The Row, including a white lace and beaded outfit for the 64th Cannes Film Festival.
Olsen is known for ignoring fleeting trends and instead slips into staples that she feels comfortable in, like a classic black pantsuit or a draped sheer frock.
“Early on in my career, I tried to wear the hottest brands and whatever was assumed to be ‘the right thing’ for a young actress,” she told InStyle. “Now I just want to feel like me. If that means wearing a shirt and skirt from my own closet to an event, then great.”
The actress has also made an impact in statement pieces, like the embellished blue Miu Miu dress she wore at the 2014 Met Gala.
