Elie Youan latest as Hibs want 'more than' £2.5m for striker

Hibernian will hold out for more than £2.5m for Elie Youan this summer, according to a report.

There is strong interest in the Frenchman and approaches were previously knocked back for the player in January.

Hibs are willing to sell the player, however, the Scotsman states that they will seek more than £2.5m for him.

The 25-year-old arrived on a permanent deal from St Gallen last year after an initial loan move. They paid £700,000 for him.

The report states that an unnamed French club has shown significant interest.

Until Hibs' valuation of Youan is met though, he will remain at Easter Road.

The wide attacker contributed with 10 goals and 11 assists last season in what was a difficult campaign for the Hibees.

He has two years remaining on his current contract, meaning Hibs are in a strong position to dictate his whereabouts next season.

New head coach David Gray is set to be backed with a whopping £1m this summer.

The sale of Youan could help improve those funds and facilitate further recruitment plans.

Meanwhile, Celtic defender Greg Taylor has expressed hope he can cap the most eventful summer of his life by playing for Scotland at the Euro 2024 finals in Germany.

Taylor got married to his long-term partner Laura in Ibiza last month after helping the Parkhead club to complete a Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

But the left back promptly joined up with the national squad to prepare for the friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland and he has, after surviving the final cut, travelled to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with them.

The 13-times capped 26-year-old did not get on the park at Euro 2020 and he would dearly love to feature in the Group A games against Germany, Switzerland and Hungary in the coming days.
