While Eli and Peyton Manning are no longer carving up opposing secondaries in the NFL, the two retired Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks remained in the league’s orbit, particularly on Mondays.
When the two joined together to produce their weekly telecast during Monday Night Football, the ManningCast, it gave football lovers another option to appreciate the sport while also getting some additional laughter and personality between the brothers and their guests.
However, after it was announced Monday that the elder Manning was the recipient of the 2023 Sports Emmy for outstanding personality and event analyst, Eli had the perfect tweet to take a jab at his award-winning brother.
“I did not know you could win an Emmy for just telling fans when coaches should call timeout,” Eli said.
Eli and Peyton have been in competition for their entire lives. But in this moment, Peyton won out, beating the other nominees for the prestigious award: Cris Collinsworth, Bill Raferty, Gary Danielson and John Smoltz.

The good news is that the duo will continue to broadcast their simulcast for the upcoming this season this fall. That means Peyton potentially sending more “45-minute voice memos” to Eli about the organization of a plays to watch during a game, another Snoop Dogg appearance or Pat McAfee chatting with them from time to time.
