Eli Manning wasn’t in attendance at “The Roast of Tom Brady” Netflix special over the weekend, but he did make sure to get off a side dig at the former New England Patriots quarterback on social media.
“I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!” Manning posted on social media.
Former players and celebrities gathered on Sunday for an unfiltered roasting of the greatest quarterback of all time. Eli’s brother, Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, attended the event and got a really good joke in onstage, which was followed by an epic comeback response from Brady.
“Peyton, sometimes you live in Denver, sometimes you live in Louisiana, but you’ll always live in my shadow,” said Brady.
Eli’s two Super Bowl wins over the Patriots have long been considered the biggest blemishes on Brady’s resume. But then again, when you’re talking about a former NFL quarterback with seven Super Bowl rings on his mantle, those hardly feel like blemishes at all.
