The event will raise money for Wansbeck Valley Food Bank and the Wansbeck Christmas Campaign.

Mum-of-three Michelle Henderson wanted to organise an event the community could enjoy while supporting to local causes.

She said: "I am a mother of three beautiful children Andrew 15, Jack, 14, and Leila, 13.

"We were all sat discussing our plans for the Christmas period when it dawned on me how much the past couple of years have been hard on everyone and even more so with the financial struggle hitting so many families.

"I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be and just wanted to try and make a difference.

"I wanted to organise something that the whole family would enjoy."

Michelle contacted the rugby club who fully backed her plans.

"For me Ashington Rugby Club is a huge part of this community, all of the coaches are volunteers and give up so much of there own time to be there and coach the children in our area," she said. "That's why they love the concept of the cinema as its giving to the community."

Michelle said the food bank and Christmas campaign play a vital role helping families during the festive season.

She added: "I knew I wanted to help raise money for Wansbeck Valley Food Bank as they work so hard throughout the whole year and seen there had been an increase in individuals/families that required their services.

"Nobody should have to worry about where there next meal is going to come from and with the help and support from the foodbank they don't have to.

"Wansbeck Christmas Campaign works alongside the foodbank and help ensure no child wakes up on Christmas morning without present.

"I especially want my children to all learn the importance of helping others in any way you can however big or small as being kind does not cost anything but means a lot to others.

"I've had so much positive support already from everyone and it's meant so much everyone had been very generous."
