In a thrilling semifinal match at the Miami Open, fourth-seeded Elena Rybakina emerged victorious against No. 27 seed Victoria Azarenka. The match went the distance with Rybakina winning 6-4, 0-6, 7-6 (2) in a hard-fought battle that lasted 2 hours and 33 minutes.

Rybakina, currently ranked fourth on the WTA Tour, showcased her resilience and determination throughout the match. Despite facing tough competition from Azarenka, Rybakina managed to break Azarenka's serve at a crucial moment in the third set, taking a 3-2 lead. With this win, Rybakina advances to the final of the Miami Open, where she will face either No. 14 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova or unseeded Danielle Collins. This marks Rybakina's second consecutive final appearance at the Miami Open, having finished as the runner-up last year.

Rybakina, aged 24, is enjoying a successful season, aiming for her third title of the year. Her victory over Azarenka extends her undefeated record against the Belarusian player to 4-0, including two wins this year.

Azarenka, aged 34, put up a strong fight in the semifinal match, showcasing her experience and skill on the court. Despite falling short in this match, Azarenka's performance throughout the tournament was commendable, as she aimed to become the oldest winner in the tournament's history.
