Election Officials In Battleground States Receive Suspicious Mail

Trump heads to battleground Pennsylvania as criminal trial looms

Two additional election officials in battleground states have reported receiving suspicious mail, adding to concerns as the November election approaches. Lisa Marra, the state election director for Arizona’s secretary of state, disclosed that an envelope addressed to the secretary’s office was recently intercepted at the election department in the state capitol with the assistance of the United States Postal Service and FBI.

Marra highlighted the challenge posed by potentially suspicious mail, particularly noting the issue with absentee ballots sent by military and overseas voters that may come from addresses that appear dubious. She emphasized the importance of vigilance in such matters, stating that it has been a concern for some time.

In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger revealed that his office had been alerted by the USPS about a suspicious package en route. The postal service is working to intercept the package, following a similar successful intervention when an envelope containing fentanyl was sent to an election office in Fulton County.

Meanwhile, North Carolina’s state election board director confirmed that a suspicious envelope had been received and intercepted, prompting an FBI investigation into the matter.

Recent reports indicated that election officials in at least fifteen states had received suspicious packages, although no hazardous materials were found in any of them. The FBI and USPS are actively investigating these incidents to ensure the safety and security of election officials and processes.
