A police investigation has been launched after the sudden death of a woman at a Scots beach.
Emergency services were raced to Troon Beach at Crosbie Road in Ayrshire at 6.50am today after receiving a report of the incident. Medics attended and on arrival, the woman was found dead at the scene.
Police are currently treating her death as unexplained. Inquires remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the beach at Crosbie Road in Troon around 6.50am on Tuesday, April 18 following the sudden death of an elderly woman. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
