An 85-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in Heywood.
Emergency services rushed to A58 Rochdale Road East at around 1.20pm on Thursday (March 17) following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian - an 85-year-old woman - was taken to hospital in a serious condition but has since died.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the driver of a Mercedes stayed at the scene speak to officers. No arrests have been made.

A GMP spokesman said: "Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information after an 85-year-old woman died following a road traffic collision in Heywood. The woman was struck by a vehicle on Rochdale Road East at about 1.20pm on Thursday 17 March 2022 and died later in hospital.

"The driver of a Mercedes stayed at the scene to assist officers.
