An unfortunate incident occurred in Tampa, where a 71-year-old woman allegedly shot her roommate dead over a cleanliness dispute. Patricia Whitehead now faces a charge of first-degree premeditated felony murder, as per Hillsborough County Court records.
The Tampa Police Department responded to a shooting incident at a residence on E. 26th Avenue around 9:28 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, who later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, Patricia Whitehead, and the victim shared living quarters. Whitehead reportedly became enraged with the victim for not maintaining cleanliness standards. The situation escalated when the victim left the residence, prompting Whitehead to retrieve her firearm, exit the house, and shoot the victim multiple times.
Currently, Whitehead is in custody at the Orient Road Jail without bond, as indicated by online booking records. A court date for her case is yet to be scheduled.
